I have a penchant for housewifery, especially the glamorous kind. I love this shoot of Elle Fanning by Venetia Scott, the fashion, muted colours but especially the furniture. Furniture from the 50’s and 60’s had very little ornamentation, straight lines and simple designs. Mostly made of natural wood like mahogany, maple, oak and teak. Furniture had less of a status symbol than in previous times, so all the focus went into the end use and comfort of the pieces. Cleverly made for a pretty housewife to lounge around in all day…bliss.
