The Gallarelli Home

The Gallarelli Home
June 1, 2017 Monya

What a house to resurrect a blog with! I’m back b*tches, and very happy to share this beautiful house with you. It’s nestled (estate agent speak) in the leafy suburb of Fernwood in Cape Town, but more importantly belongs to one of my favourite families, the Gallarellis. These guys are our chinas (SA speak for BFF’s) and we have spent many hours in this house drinking wine, eating good food, lazing in front of the fireplace and whipping them at 30 seconds. In all the years I’ve known Carol her design aesthetic has been pretty simple and boils down to three words “I hate colour” which translates into a very serene and calm monotone home, although I am seeing pops of colour creeping in these days.

The Mr Blonde barstools and Trolley Dolly below are from Stokperd

Twiggy table table in oak from Stokperd with spindle chairs and ceiling pendant from Weylandts

The refurbished reading chair is a vintage find from Anouk furniture

The Peggy cabinet stores all Nico’s favourite things. The Teepee is from Kids Living, pouffe from Moroccan warehouse and Munka shelf from Stokperd and the rug from Mr Price.

The towel hooks are from Poetry and towels from H&M and Country Road.

The bentwood chair below is part of a set that has been in the Gallarelli family for generations, and also used to be our  dining chairs (back when we couldn’t afford furniture)

Nico’s room… his bedding is from Country Road and the bear head from Kids Living.

Munka shelves beautifully styled by Carol

The nifty book stand below is from Dovetail and step ladder from Kids Emporium

I can vouch for the comfort factor of this chair from Weylandts, and if you’re a new mama looking for a feeding chair this one gets two thumbs up

The wall hook with Nico’s skater gear is from Kids Living

The serene main bedroom with light fittings from Weylandts

The guest room with a munka shelf and Grappa the cat, whom the shelves were originally named after.

The mezzanine level has a second playroom for Nico

And an office for his parents. The kiddy furniture set is available here

This house is gorgeous, love the sense of space! Would’ve been interesting to read more about the house, as in the build or redesign of it. Everything is stunning, especially those comfy looking beanbags!

Such a gorgeous home! Love the contrast between the white walls and dark accents.
