Driving down Park Road in Cape Town’s city centre I hardly expected to find La Grenadine petit hotel. Once inside the gates, the city completely disappears and you are surrounded by trees dripping with pomegranates, avo’s, lemons and olives. It used to be an old stable that the French owners have transformed into an exquisite little guesthouse. Melodie and Max refurbished each room using beams, fixtures and fittings from the original structure, but giving each piece a new life as a table or a cupboard. And best of all, beautiful french linen on all the beds. So very ooh la la.
Owner Melodie is also an actress…don’t the French just make it look so easy?
